We talk a lot about what to do immediately after an incident that puts somebody into a survival situation, but what about when that turns into a long term
situation? What is the game plan for a long term situation?
Let's assume the incident occurred 7-10 days earlier and we have a nice little campsite organized during this time period. We have been signaling and have neither seen nor heard any human activity during the entire time. Whether it be weather, terrain, etc. we can NOT walk out at this time and have to stay put. Help is not imminent, but we will be ready to signal if anybody should come within sight or sound of us. We have a good source of fresh water. Plant and animal life are abundant enough that with proper gathering, hunting/trapping/fishing skills we'll stay un-hungry!
What priorities now arise? What game plan are we working with? Where do we go now? We may be here for an unknown amount of time with only the few items we salvaged from the incident.
