I'm using Williams Peep sights and factory fronts currently. I've considered mounting a IER scope on the 1894S to use as a "Scout Lever
Rifle" and have considered a low powered scope for the .444, but haven't gone any further. The Williams work too well for me currently!

I'm to the point that glasses of 1-2x are need to see the front sight. I can still see good enough for up close but not sure how well I would do 100 yards
or more. I am looking at either a 2x7 or a 1.5x5 but not in scout config.

If you can find one of the older (20+ y.o.) Weaver K-2.5 or K-3's, they're nearly bulletproof and easy to mount low with the straight tube on them.

They mounted them on .458 WM and .375 H&H for years, they're plenty strong.

I found a Leupold M8 4X for $115. and sent some $. Should be here in a few days. It is the gloss blk and should look good on the 444. I'll leave teh K4 on
the 22 mag for now.

got the Leupold mounted with Warn quick detatch rings so i can use the open sites if needed. foulnd a factory hammer extention that srews into the threaded
hole in hammer. Accuired another 160 brass to load. i ended up with an extra set of Lyman 444marlin dies if anyone one needs some cheap. Now need to go get the
scope sighted . Anyone use any Beartooth bullets. Got (300) 250 gr w/ gas check and need a load using H335.
