A small tool kit that will help you make repairs to your vehicle on the road, not a coprehensive mechanics kit.

A set of open end wrenches with the attached swivel socket end, it takes the place of a seperate socket set in most instances.

a set of these will help to fill in the gaps in a emergency when you don't have a full tool chest with you.

Battery post and cable end cleaning tool, they are small cheap and will save wear and tear on the pocket knife.

This list is for the car alone, people will need there own kit.
- A ground sheet of some sort and/or coveralls. - Hazard marker: light, reflector, flare(s). - A small selection of the cars needed fluids. - Tow strap. - Shovel, axe, pick. - A small selection of mechanics tools. - Ice Scraper. - Gloves - Knife. - Tape and glue. - Plastic wire ties. - Jack, maybe a better one than the factory includes. - Lug wrench, maybe a better one than the factory includes. - Spare tire, maybe a better one than the factory includes. - Add to this as needed to suit location and cars condition. Fireplug wrote: Basically I carry same items as Fireplug. I also carry 3 fire extinguishers. In my life I've had 3 occasions where I needed to use a fire ext to put out vehicle fires. The 1st time I had no extinguisher. That was an expensive repair. #2 I could have used 2. I had the fire 90% out when first fire tanker arrived. They doused an old Caddy and mopped up. Burning tires (4) are hard to put out with one 5 pound extinguisher. #3 I was warming up a work truck a few months ago when a guy from another subcontractor told me the truck was smoking. I jumped out and saw smoke. The ext that WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN TRUCK was NOT. The guy gave me his ext. and I put out 3 spot fires. That was an interesting morning. Yeah I carry tools and emergency related gear. W/my 3 fire ext. I have fairly substantial FAK, reflective orange vest, 1 'road triangle', 2 24"reflective cones (in bed of truck), road flares and always at least 2 flashlights tho quite often 3 or more. I carry the OEM jack+a better jack from my old truck. |
