If I could only have two firearms, I could live with it being these two.

There's no such thing as just 2.
2=1 and 1=0 Okay, not like they're gonna break any time soon but...... Still. I've been that broke, having to sell off the majority of a collection before and one of my choices to keep then were also Ruger's but a blued 6" Security Six and a blued 7 1/2" MkII that had been customized. |

Fine choices. I'm afraid to play this game for fear that the wife will find out I can get by with just two. ;-)

I could get by with my .44 Ruger Flattop and Single Six.
I could get by with my Flattop and my 25-35. I could get by with my Flattop and my 30-30/20. I could get by with my Flattop and my .44 Marlin Cowboy. I could get by with my Flattop............well.........you ge the idea! I love my Flattops! 405 |

Since we are considering firearms for combat use, which to me is just self defense cause I'm gonna avoid firefights like the plague, after replacing the
barrel on the 870, that with a variety of ammo, it's the best I have for survival, including protecting family. Along with it, I would add the .45 in a
shoulder holster and bury one of the Bersa .380s as a conceal/belly gun.

Tim-461, I had to laugh out loud at what you said! Same deal here! Although, the wife has come around on the guns to some extent, just lately. But I DO hear it
from her about just why I need so many "shootin' arns" and her surprise at how much they cost. She is now quite big on emergency preparedness in
the area of food/water supply and she wants us to be off the grid on electricity.
I like my 870 and my .45, too, as my main two for self defense. |

I too have been so broke as to be forced into getting rid of almost all of 'em.
Reduced to two, mmm. Either my CZ 527 in 7.62x39 and my S&W Shorty Forty Five or the Shorty and the Winchester 94 Trapper in .45 Colt. Tough call. Down to one, that would have to be the Shorty. The first mag I put through it was eight rounds of Keith 255 grain handloads. At 20 yards the entire group hid behind a quarter. I was inpressed! And it'll feed anything, even an empty case. Cat |

Since we are talking Defensive firearms here...I'd have to say my 870 and 4" Redhawk.

My choices would be the 870 and the Security-Six.
I've noticed that while we have had a varity of weapons, we have almost universally chosen Ruger handguns of one type or another. Shotgun Jeff , Out! ![]() "We're surrounded, that simplifies our problem." ~ LtGen. Lewis B. (Chesty) Puller

Didn't say that my current choices were Rugers, but some 20 years ago...... They were all I had left to speak of.
Today, since this is the combat and defense weapons section, I'd have to go with my..... Colt 1911 Custom shop .45 and..... FAL .308. (Okay it's not an actual FN but close enough) Not to say that the Detonics .45 Combat Master wouldn't be hidden somewhere on me. |
