Stating that he is getting older, and that starving his body, and lugging 50 lbs of cameras around at the same time is getting harder and harder to recover
from Les Stroud has announced his retirement frm Survivorman. The last two episodes will be shown this week and next on Discovery. Sad, I like the show, much
better than Man Against Wild, but I am feeling my age too so I can well understand, lol.

I like his show too. I read where he is talking about doing another show, but he wasn't forthcoming with info on it. He said that if it comes together,
that it will still be outdoors related.

I will miss Survivorman. Maybe Les will develop something new that conveys much of the same feel and info.

Les is pretty cool and I really like his show; Bear (Man vs Wild) is a tool.

I've always enjoyed Les Stroud's show, and have them on DVD. He's right, better to go out on top, and perhaps do occasional shows like his one
post-Katrina. About the only place Les hasn't covered would be a week in Boston with no food, no camera crew, decked out in New York Yankee gear.

Les will truly be missed. I heard he was creating program titled Off The Grid.

He made a video already about being off the grid for a year I beleive it was. Perhaps he is expanding that format into a series of shows.

I got a copy of his book and a Buck 119 for Christmas. I never liked the Buck knives very much, but this one will be treasured because of the thought that
went into my recieving it. In a fleeting refence to camping I mentioned Les Stroud and not wanting to camp like he did, but glad to have the information if
needed. That led to them researching who Les is, finding his website and then finding out what knife he carried. That is the kind of thought that makes a
gift special.
