I like the idea of an external frame that can also be used by itself, like a Medium ALICE pack, but I didn&#39;t like the weight and bulk of the ALICE pack
when I had one.

			<title><![CDATA[ Paring down the BOB... ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I reorganized the BOB again yesterday, had to, the zipper blew out on my main BOB pack and I need to replace the pack.  In the meantime, I thought I&#39;d make
use of my hydration pack and a couple of shoulder pouches.

			<description><![CDATA[ Most of us have kit pieces to gather food in our BOB&#39;s that do not necessitate a projectile weapon.  Some of the do require a final kill however!!  Some of
our BOB&#39;s are based on hunting/trapping/snaring/fishing/etc. What happens if we remove the &quot;hunting&quot; aspect?  Have you ever considered a kit that
does not allow for a projectile weapon of any type?  I ask you to think about this for a moment or several and decide if you your BOB is appropriately supplied

			<description><![CDATA[ I was in a different store over the weekend and picked up a can of B&amp;M Brown Raisin(also nonraisin version) bread in a can.  You need a can opener to open
it.  The bread tastes like molasses/treacle bread and is not bad at all.

16 oz can for $2.99 but online there are cheaper prices for it.

The expiration date was Sept 2011 on the can I got.  So maybe an idea to add variety to your food storage cupboard.

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve had a chance to experiment with Pie Irons this summer!  I purchased three Cast Iron Pie Irons and have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to season and
use cast iron cookware over a fire/coals.  My son is a &#39;picky eater&#39; and it has made outdoor cooking much easier for him as it is almost like cooking
on a stove in the end.  He doesn&#39;t like that good charcoal flavor in his food the rest of us enjoy with BBQ&#39;s and campfire cooking, so it&#39;s kept me
sane! LOL!

take up very little space compared to standard bowls, and cleaning is a snap.  Pretty rugged, too.
